Colette holds both Bachelor of Social Work and Master Social Work degrees from Dalhousie University as well as a Certificate in Child Development from Mount St. Vincent University and a Master of Arts from St. Mary’s University. She has worked in the social service sector for close to 30 years and has over 12 years of counselling experience in both public and private practice settings. She has helped clients resolve concerns surrounding depression, anxiety, addictions, anger, trauma, stress, grief and loss, illness, parenting, conflict, and family break-up.
Colette works with adults, couples and youth and fosters compassionate awareness of the sources of distress in daily living. She believes that compassion between individuals and for ourselves can help to heal our wounds .She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Transactional Analysis to address emotional, psychological and behavioral barriers to fuller lives.
